Protest For Marriage

He’s the eldest among his siblings(who all are married) ; he’s on job as a watch-keeper at a girls’ hostel in Peshawar; his father is a wealthy person, yet he’s unmarried. Being aware of his democratic right to protest, he doesn’t hold back to raise his concern. We are with him in his rightful demand to be married off! πŸ˜›

Beware parents! Don’t be oblivious to the ordeals your bachelor offsprings pass through! Get married them off, lest you won’t stand before the flooding long marchers lead by the visionary Hashmat Ali Khan (Above in the picture)! πŸ™‚

P.S (Photo courtesy:

Asma Jee came up with a poem on the same subject theme as she dedicated it to this blogger and I’m putting it here with some hesitation coz I don’t wanna make my single-hood public courtesy the fear that I might be flooded with lots of proposals πŸ˜›

Alaika houn aur behud bechaara houn
Afsos – Mein to ik be-bus saa Kanwaara houn

Aap ki bhaabi ghar mein gar hoti
khaanay peenay ka kuchh maza hota
choodhian khanaktein ghar ke konon mein
Shab-o-roz khwaab yeh sanwaara houn

Afsos – Mein to ik be-bus saa Kanwaara houn

Bhateeja aap ka goad mein le kar
mein bhi ronaq badhhaata mehfil ki
baithta aap ke woh pehlu mein
kehta mein aap ka shehbaala houn

Afsos – Mein to ik be-bus saa kanwaara houn…

Sometimes just stupid reasons hinder a very simple task.

But this is sort of funny. He is an adult and can get married if his father isn’t interested in marrying him off due any reason.

  2. Yes Ayesha .. his state is both ironical and sorry which sort of illustrates that of our society as a whole. Waisay, he’s far well off by being a part of a girls hostel than those dying to catch the glimpses of the species residing there, lurking for hours and hours in front of the girls schools and colleges .. lol ..

Very funny. He cud marry any one by himself or he cud say all this to his father instead of saying it on roads. After all hez not a ‘chota bacha’

  6. @ nadia .. He isn’t supposed to do that by himself as per the norms of the society he belongs to, besides he might not be financially independent to do so.

@ riaasim .. His father showed him a cold shoulder hence he protested on the road. πŸ™‚

@ Captain .. Yes, strange are the ways of this world, and stranger are its inhabitants! 😦

  7. Gour kiya jaaye to ye humaare maashre ke andar pal rahe ajeeb reeti rivaaj hai…As we are groomed to be totally dependant on parents for imp decions of life inspite of being financially secure..I think the norms should be loosened to give a breathing space to the offsprings to select their life partner…If parents are so cold and immune towards there offsprings then better give them the green signal to move ahead with there life.

  8. @ MZ … hmm … that might be the case but the plight over the face of the protester doesn’t give us any signs of it; I guess he’s genuinely disturbed.

@ aarzoo .. I can’t agree much to what you have said! In our society there exist huge voids of communication between parents and their children especially when it comes to discussions on marital matters; it isn’t considered decent for youngsters to talk about these matters hence the continuous frustrations which lead to examples like the one above.

Thanks for liking the header! πŸ™‚

@ bmk … this man’s a ray of hope for all us kanwaras by making the matter public and we could use this photograph as a warning to our respective elders in case they remain like they are πŸ˜‰

    very sad πŸ˜€
if his problem will not solve even after this protest then may be as a last option he will approach shareef brothers for a long march πŸ˜›
dharna infront of his father’s house πŸ˜›

Asma has said it right. Shah Jee trying to hijack his protest.

Ayesha, no wonder if he got this innovative idea from some girl of his hostel πŸ˜€

The problem is that he is the eldest, if he had an elder one then there could be another way. Like my younger brother, he suddenly decided a day before my tail-mehandi that there would not be an important guest missing on this occasion and next day we had his barat to bring choti bhabhi home to add one more to my baraat.

  17. @ Gooonga Jee .. Certain people turn a blind eye to what they see in my heart. So its better to wait and flow with the tides of time. Who knows if they take me to the islands I’ve craved for! πŸ™‚ I’m glad to know that life’s beautiful πŸ™‚
