The Dawn Of Your Thoughts

On a wintry Islamabad

eventide, the clarity of

my mind was fogged

by the gloom, lurking

in the horizon

all the day long,

wary of the mighty sun,

waiting for it to depart.

Amid the rule of dark,

the golden countenance

of your thoughts

burst like a dawn,

splashed through

the curtains of

my numbed vision,

and the future looked

as resplendant

as an ever-lasting morn.

The title says it all ! You ve written it so so beautifullyπŸ™‚
As the dawn has come and the future looks as resplendant as an everlasting morn…its time you changed “I m feeling Depressed” to something like “I m feeling reinvigorated…”
    Have a great day, AadilπŸ™‚

  4. @Nayni .. Yes, the credit goes to …… my imaginationπŸ™‚ Thanks for the comment!πŸ™‚

@Cavaliere .. Thank you! Your comments are much appreciated!πŸ™‚ I’m sure gonna change my mood now!πŸ™‚ And yes, check your mailbox ..

You love winters in Islamabad – Infact you love nature.

    A very well written piece.πŸ™‚

I like the reference to dawn in there.

  6. You seem to prefer the peace and tranquility that cold evenings bring. But I do agree to:

    “Amid the rule of dark,

    the golden countenance

    of your thoughts

    burst like a dawn…”

because a person is left preoccupied with worldly affairs and professional responsibilities during the day, so it’s only in the stillness of the night that one gets to reflect.

  7. @Goonga jee .. The weather calls for you; where art thou, my friend!πŸ™‚

@Asma jee .. Yes, I draw my inspiration from nature. In fact I was asked a tricky question in a desiwriters’ meeting of what I’d prefer; the love for a human being or that of the nature and it was a hard task to accumulate answer for that. Thanks for appreciating the poem!πŸ™‚

@nadia .. You’ve very well reviewed what I wanted to say in the poem!πŸ™‚
    Thanks for commenting!πŸ™‚

Beautiful! It’s amazing how such imagery is always refreshing no matter how many times you present it and in how many different ways.

@ nadia, I’d disagree a bit. It’s a person’s ability to reflect amidst all that humdrum and preoccupations that brings to surface the poet in him and distinguishes him from ordinary mortals. And our Aadil miyaN is fast becoming one heckuvva poet! :p God speed to him!πŸ™‚
