Life In Patches!

Like a cracking shore of ocean,
Quenched and left and quenched,
By water in each a little potion,
My heart is parched; a bit drenched

Sighting you, it leaps with bliss,
And drinks from the bowl of your eyes,
Wishing a longer life; a prolonged kiss,
But you leave, leaving it sobbing in sighs

Granting a life in the shorter whiles,
O’ love! is an act unkind I fear,
Come forth forever! crossing the miles,
The pain, the separation’s too hard to bear!

    Aadil,
I left a comment earlier on chowk but this warrants another one as its a beautiful poem to depict the journey partly emotional; existential……..you are definitely doing great at dissecting concept of ” Firaq” and “Visal”……

Keep up the brilliant in these verses of yours…………

As one read poetry, one tries to derieve the meanings from the poet’s perspective and its binding effect…….its that stitching that creates the magic…….minute stitches, from a needle of thought to create a mosaic of embroidery…..beautiful

    That is very good verse!
Reminds me of something I read in school:

UNFATHOMABLE SEA – A poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley

    Unfathomable Sea!
    whose waves are years,
    Ocean of Time,
    whose waters of deep woe
Are brackish with the salt of human tears!
    Thou shoreless flood,
which in thy ebb and flow
    Claspest the limits of mortality!

    And sick of prey,
    yet howling on for more,
    Vomitest thy wrecks on its inhospitable shore;
Treacherous in calm, and terrible in storm,
Who shall put forth on thee,
    Unfathomable Sea?

  6. So very thanks kashkin and madam nadeen!
Kashkin, I’m thankful to your thoughtful comments about the poem. Infact your reviews are always full of intellegence and command over the matter.
And nadeen, thanx for invoking the college memories when Shelley would be discussed in detail by our enlighs teacher.

    Aadil, thanks

All one can do is part with goodness in any form or shape and to be able to curb the negativity within ourselves…Transference of goodness brings goodness and negativity nothing..

I always read your poems and it goes for the rest as well Nadeen, Ayesha, Shobig and the rest as I am reading my own words…and by doing so, an element of comfort and peace draws its curtains….and then you enjoy more and appreciate….

    keep writing
